WooHoo! The scale is going back in the right direction. Down a total of 6.5 pounds today. I'm doing my best to make sure it stays down.
Have now worked out 20 days in a row. So proud of myself.
Irritated by the dumb bees in the bubble game. On the Training Plus menu, I finally have figured out how to get through the cave and the two spinning wheels on the bubble game ... only to have the bubble popped by a bee every time. Grrr!

Down 1.5 pounds
Hurray! The scale says I'm down another 1.5 pounds today for a total of 5.5 pounds. I'm thrilled. I can feel the difference in how my pants fit.
I wish there was an "Expert" level on the Kung Fu game. It only goes to Advanced. Wish had longer time periods like the boxing game does.
I don't think the Hula Hoop game gives you enough calories burned for how hard it is. It really gets me huffing and puffing!

Expert Boxing
Starting every workout with the stupid soccer ball balance game. I'm getting better at it, but find if I make a mistake early in the game it ruins everything. The key is to start out strong and rack up the points early. Every ball you hit in succession without missing or getting hit by a shoe or panda head adds multiple points.
I made it through the expert boxing level this morning. Not only is it 10 minutes long, it's at a little faster pace. It's a good workout.
Weight down again this morning. Hurray! Feeling good. Really watching what I eat, trying to stay between 1000 and 1200 calories a day.

A New Week
Day 17 and I'm still going strong. My weight had been inching up the last couple of days no matter what I did. Dropped back down this morning. Turns out it's TOM. Hope it continues to keep dropping now.
I've increased my workout to 45-60 minutes depending on what I can fit in before work. I've been aiming for 300 calories burned at a minimum. Doing more aerobics. Also started doing some of the strength training. The leg lifts, twists, and tricep exercises I can do ... but I failed horribly at the pushups. Oh well, something else to keep pushing for.

Frustrated
I'm frustrated today. The darn scale says I'm back up a pound. I know, I know, weight fluctuates. BUT, I really hate that it went up. I've been very good about what I eat, and even worked out for an extra 45 minutes last night. Trying hard to not let this discourage me.
The good news is that I finally completed the Expert level on the cycling. Figured out how to get up to those last two flags - have to go through a cave and out to a road that wraps around the volcano. So proud of myself!

Day 12
The Wii says I'm down a total of 4 lbs today. That's great! I'll be happy if I can keep up 2 lbs a week. In addition to doing 30-45 minutes each morning on the Wii, I'm watching what I eat and trying to get 10,000 steps in a day. I also gave up diet soda about 3 weeks ago. I was seriously addicted to the stuff, easily drinking 4 cans a day. I started worrying about the effect artifical sweetners and all those chemicals were having on me.
Boxing on the Wii is a good aerobic workout. Boxing is definitely something I never would have tried without the cute little Wii game to inspire me.
Still haven't tried the Expert cycling again. I did the Island View course this morning instead.

Day 11
Getting up early to work out is getting easier. I find I'm looking forward to it. In addition to doing my morning Wii workout, I started wearing a pedometer to track how many steps I take during the day. The goal is 10,000. The Wii has a section that lets you track the number of daily steps you take, as well as your waist measurement, in the stats section.
I spent 46 minutes this morning doing the Expert cycling course. You have to find 20 targets around the island. I managed to find 18 before I had to stop to get ready for work. I can see the other two up on the mountain, but I can't figure out how to get to them. Will have to try again tomorrow.

Day 10
10 Days in a row so far! The Wii says I'm down only 3 pounds, but my pants fit better this morning. Funny how they "get shorter" the fatter I get. Also amazing how I can fool myself that 3 pounds isn't that much when it goes on ... but it does make a difference when it comes off.
I discovered the bicycle riding on the Fit Plus this weekend. I hadn't tried it because I thought you used your hands like the Sports Resort bicycling to peddle. That is fun, but this is even better. You walk on the board to make the bike pedal and you steer with the remote. The goal is to go around riding through a set number of goals. You don't have to stay on the path and you can ride almost anywhere you want. It keeps you interested and you don't realize how long you've been doing it until you're done.

End of Week #1
Day 7! I'm so proud of myself for getting up every morning and working out. The Wii says I'm down 2 lbs. I'm happy with that.
FINALLY got to the end of the Bubble game. Thought I would never figure it out. I love the Rhythm Parade and Obstacle Course. The Kung Fu game is fun too. I've been mixing it up during my workouts, starting with balance games and then spending the bulk on aerobics activities. Then, a couple more balance games for a cool down.
My next goal is to make it through 1 month without missing a day.

Day 2 or 6?
Well, it's day 2 for the blog, day 6 for the Wii workout. Should I count it as day 2 or 6? Guess I'll go with 6 since the focus is on working out.
Today was the first day that I felt like I was getting bored with some of the activities ... not a good sign. But then, the Wii unlocked the next level. I know others have complained that all of the levels aren't open when you start out, but personally I think it gives "non-exercisers" like me more of an incentive to keep it up. So far I've done 30+ minutes each day.
The scale is down a hair (literally), but anything is better than nothing!

The Start
Ok, so I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. I'm not sure if it's the whole "Julie & Julia" movie thing, or the recent seminar on social media I attended, but starting a blog sounds like a good idea on a cold, January day. This will be my place to experiment with the whole blogging thing. I have no idea how it will go, but I'll give it a shot.
My son and I cashed in our bank of saved change this past Saturday to buy the Wii Fit Plus. Amazing how much that change adds up to! I am curious to know if you can really lose weight using the thing, so I'm going to make that the focus of my blog.
Today is the 5th day I've exercised with the Wii and although the scale has only inched down a smidgen, I'm impressed with how well the Wii has motivated me to get up each morning to use it. I'm hoping this blog will be added incentive to keep it up!
